This Privacy Policy explains how IP Block Ltd (“we”, “us”, “our”), trading as NeedATaxi.co.uk, collects, uses and protects your personal data when you use our website www.needataxi.co.uk and our mobile app (together, the “Service”). We are the data controller for this personal data.
We are committed to protecting your privacy in line with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.

2. The personal data we collect
Visitors to the website and app
- Technical data: IP address, browser/device type, operating system, and pages viewed.
- Usage and analytics data: how you interact with the Service (see our Cookie Policy).
- Approximate or precise location only when you choose the “find taxis near me” feature. On the app this uses your device GPS with your permission; on the website it uses your browser’s location. We use the coordinates to find nearby firms and do not store your location against your identity.
- Search terms you enter (such as a town or postcode).
Registered users
- Your email address and a securely hashed password.
- The taxi companies you save as favourites.
Taxi companies / operators
- Business contact and listing details (company name, phone, address, website, opening hours, description and photos you provide).
- Account details for the person managing the listing.
- Billing information for paid plans (Verified / Featured). Card payments are processed by Stripe; we never see or store your full card number.
Directory listings compiled from public sources
Many listings are compiled from publicly available business information. These contain business contact details rather than private personal data. If you are a sole trader and consider a listing to be your personal data, you can ask us to amend or remove it (see “Your rights” below and our GDPR & Your Rights page).

4. Cookies and similar technologies
We use cookies and similar technologies on the website, and advertising and analytics identifiers in the app. Please see our Cookie Policy for full details and how to control them.
5. Who we share your data with
We do not sell your personal data. We share it with trusted service providers (“processors”) who act on our instructions:
- Stripe — payment processing for paid plans.
- Google — analytics (Google Analytics; Firebase Analytics in the app) and advertising (Google AdMob in the app).
- Cloudflare — content delivery, performance and security.
- ip-block.com — traffic-security screening to protect the Service from abuse.
- Our hosting provider.
We may also disclose data where required by law, to enforce our terms, or to protect our rights, users or the public.
6. International transfers
Some of our providers (for example Google and Stripe) may process data outside the UK. Where they do, the transfer is protected by an adequacy decision or by appropriate safeguards such as the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or Standard Contractual Clauses.
7. How long we keep your data
- Account data: for as long as your account is active, then deleted or anonymised within a reasonable period after closure.
- Billing and transaction records: as required by law (generally 6 years).
- Analytics data: for the retention period set in our analytics tools.
- Security logs: for a limited period necessary to protect the Service.

9. Security
We use appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your data, including encryption in transit (HTTPS), hashed passwords, access controls and security screening. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your data and review our measures regularly.
10. Children
The Service is intended for adults and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The “last updated” date at the top shows when it last changed. Significant changes will be made clear on the Service.
